Aiken County man booked in 2001 rape, kidnapping case

Edward Palmore, 55, was booked July 8 in Aiken County on charges of kidnapping and first-degree criminal sexual conduct in a case tied to an alleged April 2001 assault, booking records show.

Authorities say the woman knew Palmore from high school and had run into him at a store in Augusta before he and another suspect offered her a ride home. She was instead taken to an apartment in Aiken, where authorities say she was assaulted for hours before getting help and being taken to a hospital for a rape kit.
