Aiken County mother charged after deputies say she threatened two with gun
Shaniqua Simmons, 38, was booked June 10 in Aiken County on two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person and one count of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of a violent felony. The Aiken County Sheriff's Office report says the charges stem from an April 21 confrontation near Silver Bluff and Atomic roads in Aiken County.
According to the report, a woman told deputies Simmons chased her and another person in a vehicle before cornering them and threatening them with a firearm. One of the two was Brittany Lariscey, 33, the sister of a suspect charged in the April killing of Simmons' 17-year-old son, Kahlil Simmons, according to authorities.
Kahlil Simmons was killed April 14 in Jackson, and a 16-year-old was also wounded, according to the sheriff's office report. Authorities have charged five people in that case.
