Aiken man charged after knifepoint robbery at hotel

Quarmaine Jones, 33, was booked June 21 in Aiken County on armed robbery, common law robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime charges after Aiken Department of Public Safety officers say he robbed a 29-year-old man at knifepoint at the Knights Inn in Aiken.

According to an Aiken Department of Public Safety incident report, officers responded June 21 to an armed robbery at the hotel in Aiken, where the victim told them Jones approached him, pulled a pocket knife and took his cellphone. The report says the phone was valued at about $1,700.
