A South Carolina couple was booked Sept. 27 in Richmond County after the killing of Alexandra Alston, 56, of Augusta. According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Alston was found dead late Sept. 25 in the Harrisburg area.
Deputies were called at 11:03 p.m. to a suspicious situation in the 1900 block of Watkins Street. When they arrived, they found Alston unresponsive with at least one penetrating wound, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Osiel Delgadillo Noriega, 36, was booked on charges of murder, felony theft by taking and possession of methamphetamine. Sully Delgadillo, 39, was booked on charges of harboring or concealing a fugitive, felony theft by taking and possession of methamphetamine.
The sheriff’s office said investigators had earlier circulated images of a man seen in the area who appeared to be going door to door seeking work. Authorities later identified that man as Noriega. The pair were arrested around 2 a.m. Sept. 27 at the I-20 Georgia Welcome Center.
An arrest warrant cited by WRDW alleges Alston suffered fatal injuries to her neck and chest during an assault with an unknown weapon. An autopsy was scheduled.
