Wagener man booked on child sexual exploitation charge in Aiken County

Matthew Hulst, 35, of Wagener was booked Aug. 4 in Aiken County on a charge of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Warrants allege Hulst possessed and sent two sexual images of a child younger than 10 through Snapchat.
The investigation began after the Aiken County Sheriff's Office received a CyberTip from the South Carolina Attorney General's Office on May 26 about child sexual abuse material. According to the warrants, a search warrant served on Snap Inc. linked the images to Hulst and showed they were possessed and sent May 2.
