Isaiah Harvey, 23, of Aiken, was booked Aug. 7 on charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in a June 11 shooting in Aiken. He is the second person charged in the case, according to booking records and the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
The shooting happened near York Street and Rutland Drive, near the Sunoco gas station, where one person was found with a gunshot wound and was taken by EMS to MCG Wellstar for treatment, authorities said. An incident report said the shooting appeared to move through the area, with shell casings later found in the Paces Run parking lot, along South Carolina Highway 118 between a car wash and Dollar General, and in the Crosland Apartments parking lot.
A witness told law enforcement he was stopped in traffic between KJs grocery store and the Sunoco when a male ran into the road and began shooting at another vehicle. Police also identified a 14-year-old juvenile as a suspect in the shooting.
Phillip James Upson Jr., 22, of Graniteville, was previously arrested July 22 in connection with the same incident and was also charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
