An Augusta man was arrested after investigators said a cleaning crew found about 23 pounds of marijuana inside a short-term rental in Martinez.
Ronnie Striggles Jr., 23, was booked Aug. 29 in Columbia County on charges of trafficking in cocaine/illegal drugs/marijuana/meth and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes.
According to Columbia County authorities, the cleaning crew discovered the drugs while preparing the property after a stay and alerted the homeowner, who then contacted investigators. Deputies found the marijuana, cash, packaging materials and two handguns at the rental.
Investigators later connected the items to Striggles, and he was arrested when he came to the property and spoke with officers.
