An Augusta woman was arrested after investigators found six children living in severely unsanitary conditions, according to Richmond County authorities.
Tisheika Washington, 33, was booked Sept. 1 in Richmond County on six counts of cruelty to children in the second degree.
Deputies responding to the home found children ranging in age from 1 to 14 inside. Authorities said the property had no running water or working toilets, and that human waste, trash, rotten food and maggots were found throughout.
The children included two 8-year-olds, along with ages 14, 7, 3 and 1. Washington was charged with one count for each child.
