A North Augusta man was arrested in Aiken County in connection with a 2022 allegation of sexual assault involving a minor. Amiud Diaz, 40, was booked Sept. 23 on a charge of sex/criminal sexual conduct with a minor, 3rd degree - commit/attempt lewd act.
According to the incident account, the allegation dates to October 2022. The victim told investigators Diaz entered while the child was asleep and forced himself on the minor.
The allegation was later reported to school officials, and law enforcement was contacted to take a report.
Diaz was booked into the Aiken County jail on Sept. 23.
