Thomson man booked after woman is shot during burglary
Thomson police stated that a woman was shot during a May 29 break-in at an apartment complex in Thomson, leading to Demetri Marquel Jones’s booking on May 30 in McDuffie County. His charges include aggravated assault, first-degree burglary, third-degree cruelty to children, and a felony-related firearm possession count.
Police said the woman reported that Jones broke into her home and shot her in the leg. She was taken to Doctor’s Hospital for treatment, according to police.
Booking records show Jones was also booked in Richmond County on May 30 on an other authority warrant. Thomson police said deputies found him in the Barton Chapel Road area.
